First time I made Dosa
I think I was 4 when I
first tried making dosas. I went to the kitchen and saw my mother making
dosas.
Can I make dosas too? I
asked my mother.
Ok you can. She said.
The pan was flat and black
in color and had a handle fitted with an ebonite rod.
I took the batter and
poured in on the hot pan. It made the “choosh” sound. I flattened the
batter in a spiral motion from middle - to - outside. It was different from the
way I draw spirals in my book. I start from the outside and bring the
spiral to the middle.
My mother helped pour the
oil and flip the dosa on the hot pan.
When it was cooked well,
she folded it in half and gave it on a plate with Milagai podi.
I mixed oil in Milagai podi
and dipped small dosa pieces and ate. It tasted a little spicy but was yummy!
